In the Studio
I am lucky that I have a little space to call my own, in which my inspirations become reality along with not having to worry too much about the mess.
Textiles is in my blood, although to start with, I didn't always think so.
Both of my Grandmothers and my Mother were prolific knitters, quilters and seamstresses who were eager to pass on their skills to their future generations. However with three boys before me, I had other ideas. This meant spending hours at a time outside creating the stories of our imagination which in comparison meant I wasn't interested in learning those skills. Oh how I regret that now, however thankfully the time spent outside wasn't a complete waste, it gave me the inspiration to be lured into the beautiful world of textiles even if not in the same way as my predecessors.
